Prof. Elshahawy is currently a Professor and Head of Fixed Prosthodontics Department in Tanta University, Egypt. He is the treasurer of the Egyptian Prosthodontic Association and the national representative of Egypt at the European Prosthodontic Association. Earlier, he obtained the American National Board of Dentistry and pursued his PhD degree in Texas A&M University, USA. He was a Visiting Scientist of Restorative Dental Sciences in Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, USA. He has authored and reviewed many peer-reviewed articles in various national and international journals of his research expertise. He is a co-author of a published book by InTech Corporation, entitled “Advances in Ceramics”. Meanwhile, he is a board member of the Editorial Board of many international dental journals.
