He graduated from Medical University of Białystok, obtaining the title of MD in 1989 and DDS in 1992. Specialist in dental prosthetics. In 1996, he defended his doctoral thesis, in 2013 he obtained the habilitation degree, and in 2019 he was nominated for the title of professor.
He is the author and co-author of over a hundred full-text scientific publications and conference reports, as well as books: "Periodontological and implantological plastic surgery", "Atlas of prosthetic works for working with the patient", "Team treatment in implantology. A constant journey in search of fulfillment", "Regeneration of periodontal tissues". In 2021, he published the textbook "Occlusion in practice" for Quintessence Int.
He was awarded many times for his scientific activities by the Polish Dental Association and the Rector of the Medical University of Białystok.
For many years Prof. Jan Pietruski has been conducting postgraduate courses for dentists in the field of implant prosthetics, occlusion and comprehensive rehabilitation of the masticatory system, as well as lecturing in Poland and abroad.
He is a founding member and former president of the Polish Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry, editor-in-chief of the Polish edition of the European Journal of Esthetic Dentistry, and a member of the scientific councils of various dental journals.
For nearly thirty years, he has been running a dental practice in Białystok specializing in comprehensive rehabilitation of the masticatory system.
